The story of Distinctive Industries began in 1969 when two car enthusiasts from Alhambra, California, came up with the idea to start a company. Originally called Distinctive Vinyl Top Manufacturing Incorporated, the company moved to a small shop in Monrovia, California. By the following year, it had grown enough to establish a manufacturing facility in Bell Gardens, California.
Today, more than 55 years later, the dream that started in a small shop by the beach has turned into the world's leading provider of quality OEM interiors for cars, trucks, and specialty vehicles from the 1960s to the 1980s. We are a leader in this industry because we pioneered it. We were one of the first to offer aftermarket factory replacement automotive interiors, which has allowed collectors and enthusiasts to maintain and restore their vehicles to their original glory.
Our factory reproduction auto interiors capture the essence of original upholstery manufacturing techniques and utilize exact factory-matching color, grain, and textured materials. Our automotive upholstery products are continuously recognized for their quality in craftsmanship. We cut our auto interiors using state-of-the-art digital cutting machines, sew them to the original factory specifications, finish them by hand, and inspect them with the most knowledgeable manufacturing staff in the industry.
